Convergence Welcomes Peter Oma as Vice President of Business Development
Convergence Design Services has appointed Peter Oma, P.Eng., as Vice President of Business Development. He joins the leadership team as the company continues to grow its products and engineering services for defence, aerospace and dual-use customers.
Three decades of industry experience
Peter brings more than 30 years of experience spanning the aerospace, defence, marine, telecommunications and power industries. His background includes senior leadership roles at companies supplying key aerospace and defence capabilities.
Throughout his career, Peter has worked across the full product development life cycle. That includes business development and program capture, and the entire new product introduction cycle across engineering, manufacturing and long-term product strategy. He has led complex international programs, built high-performing teams, directed major proposals and worked closely with customers across several mission-critical industries.
Peter holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Ottawa and works in both English and French.
Supporting Convergence’s next stage of growth
Peter joins Convergence at an exciting stage of the company’s growth. With MIL-V, the Arctic OWL ecosystem and an expanding engineering services portfolio, Convergence is building the capabilities and capacity to:
pursue larger and more complex programs
develop deeper industry partnerships
bring more Canadian technology into real-world applications
In his role, Peter will lead Convergence’s business development efforts, working with customers, partners and program teams to bring the company’s products and services to new markets.
“Peter is a major addition to our senior leadership team,” said Ben Seaman, President of Convergence. “With growth comes the opportunity to bring on exceptional talent who can help us reach the next level. I’m proud of the team, products and services we’ve built to date, and I can’t wait to see where Peter helps take us.”
“I’m excited to join the team at such a pivotal stage in the company’s growth,” said Peter. “I welcome the opportunity to build on Convergence’s strong technical capabilities, strengthen strategic industry partnerships, and pursue new opportunities across Canada’s aerospace, defence and advanced technology sectors, as well as those of its allied nations.”
Welcome to Convergence, Peter.
